In preparation for VCU’s upcoming three-day festival ‘Experiencing Villa-Lobos’, I have spent the last couple of weeks exploring the music of Brazil’s greatest musical mind. He is one of those composers who I would recommend to someone who wants to know more about classical music. His body of work is insanely vast and diverse, and so much fun to explore! Tonight we will hear a variety of pieces for guitar, piano, string quartet, string orchestra, and assorted chamber works. Do yourself a favor and get to know this man.
