Open Source RVA
On Friday’s edition of Open Source RVA, on WRIR 97.3 FM, we speak with Diversity Richmond president and executive director Bill Harrison and program coordinator Rodney Lofton about Diversity’s new initiative to combat AIDS in the African-American community. We also talk about the Iridian Gallery at Diversity Richmond, the challenges of LGBTQ citizens in the current political climate, and how DR’s Sherwood Avenue event hall has turned into a community gathering place for times good and bad. And ho ho ho! The Source revisits Christmas past with Jameson Price, the man behind the Silent / Music Revival, which joins together vintage cinema with local, modern sounds. Jameson tells us about Sunday’s 10th anniversary Revival screening at Gallery5 of “The Night Before Christmas,” from 1913, with a live soundtrack from RVA’s own Rattlemouth. Multi-media mistletoe! Dial up Richmond’s audio news digest at 2PM on Friday on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio / http://www.wrir.org. (And did you miss something?
