Party of One: A Tribute to One of the Greats
A Party Of OneParty of One: A Tribute to One of the Greats
It is the early days of the century in Richmond, VA. On an otherwise dreary weekday afternoon, kitchen staff, construction workers, cable guys, delivery men, and all manners of progressive thinking blue-collar types tune in to the crackling sounds of the AM radio dial to listen to four hours of what may be the best broadcast radio show the city has ever had: The Bopst Show.
Tonight, I humbly pay tribute to the show that in its local broadcast days was most certainly an inspiration to me as a DJ, and was-at the very least-an unbridled good time for thousands of work-a-day Richmonders toiling away in the mid-afternoon doldrums a decade ago. C.M. Bopst, this one's for you.
