#163: i bust a uey on the road to perdition (with Cold Light, UK + elsewhere)
I love this job.
I’ve been a Cold Light fan since 2023, thanks to my friend GENG giving them a signal boost. The best way to describe their music would be genreless. CL MC Dean Withdrawn (from Bristol, UK) guest curated this incredible mix of work that spotlights a ton of forthcoming and unreleased tunes, dubs, collaborations that Panoramic will be largely airing for the first time. In addition to Dean (hi, Dean), Cold Light also features Birthmark (Bristol), Roger Robinson, the wind between (London), and producers Rael (London), CSNL (Amsterdam), and Best Available Technology (Portland, OR). And that’s even getting into the long long list of collaborators (sample: Elaine Malone of pot-pot, Scopeotaku, Tony Onuchukwu).
Cold Light has a new record out next week that I’m pretty excited about.
In addition to the new music also featured in the opening and closing segments, two of the Richmond artists featured (Elastic Medium and Bijoux Nouveau) also have new records either out or about to come out. There’s a lot of great stuff loaded into this episode.
Shit is also mad moody. The way it should be.
