T-Shirt Design Contest for the 2026 Fall Fund Drive
WRIR 97.3 FM invites artists to submit artwork for our 2026 Fall Fund Drive. Send us your best design! If chosen, your artwork will appear on hundreds of collectible t-shirts worn by WRIR supporters.
Deadline for entries: Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST
Design criteria: The following four elements MUST be included in your design to be considered. Omitting any of these means your design may not be considered:
- “WRIR”
- “97.3 FM”
- “Richmond Independent Radio” or “Your Community Radio Station”
- “Fall 2026”
The winning design will be printed on the front of the t-shirt.
Your design can have a maximum of two colors.
Design submissions should show WRIR’s diverse programming (music, news, and talk) and avoid representing just one. For example, a design should not focus on only one music genre or only display instruments.
The design cannot violate any copyright laws or existing trademarks.
The WRIR logo does not need to be included. If included, the logo must retain its integrity and dimensions. If you have questions about logo requirements, please reach out to fundraising@wrir.org.
By submitting your artwork, you give us non-exclusive rights to use the image in the design of a WRIR t-shirt as well as in other WRIR promotional materials.
Judging: The t-shirt design for the 2026 Fall Fund Drive will be selected by WRIR supporters. All entries will be reviewed by WRIR’s Fundraising Committee, and qualifying designs will be evaluated by the public through WRIR’s Instagram account. Voters will be encouraged to vote according to the following criteria:
- Originality of the design
- Composition
- Overall impression
- Inclusion of all required elements
Decisions are final and binding on all matters. All prizes may not be awarded in the event that an insufficient number of qualified entries are received. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, August 26.
To enter: Each entry must be accompanied with your first and last name, phone number, and valid email address. Your information will not be shared or sold to solicitors. Names will only be used to announce the winner or to acknowledge contest participants.

- Acceptable file formats: EPS, PDF, AI
- Vector art is preferred
- Each color must be a separate layer
- Please convert any text to outlines
Entrants may submit up to three designs.
The prize: The winning design will be printed on the Fall Fund Drive t-shirt! The winner will receive WRIR’s top premium package, plus an extra t-shirt. The winner will be acknowledged on-air throughout the Fund Drive.
Custom t-shirts by local artists have been part of WRIR’s Fund Drives since 2006. All submissions are deeply appreciated. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with WRIR!
