Alternative Milestones Episode 72 – Rest in Peace, Rest in Power, You Legends
We’ll start this episode honoring 2 legends who left us this week – Sly Stone and Brian Wilson.
Sly and his band The Family Stone showed the world, with words music and actions, that diversity, equality and inclusion… LOVE… was the path to the other side of the dark times they were in.
Brian Wilson was the musical genius behind The Beach Boys, who revolutionized how albums were made.
Both of them had huge success in music, but also suffered their demons.
In addition, this week had SO MANY BIRTHDAYS! And I’m making a slight change to the structure of the show to better highlight those artists who celebrated milestone birthdays in the week.
Birthday celebrants this week included Korn, Yellowcard, Tom Jones (yep, that one!), Gang of Four, David Bowie, The Chemical Brothers, Mike Doughty, and Pixies. There’s an in Memoriam track from Stereophonics. And music release milestone tracks from Primus, The Innocence Mission, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Bjork and Catherine Wheel to name but a few!
So come on! And Dance to the MUSIC!!
