Alternative Milestones Episode 67 – RIP Jill Sobule
Last week we lost another important voice, both in music and in advocacy for human rights. Jill Sobule, a long-time beacon for the rights of LGBTQ+, women, and people in general died in a house fire last Thursday. She was 66.
We can only hope that the “law of 3’s” is true and no more bad things are imminent.
There’s also an in Memoriam track from Was (Not Was) as we remember Sweet Pea Atkinson on the 5th anniversary of his passing.
As for happier milestones this week, there are SO MANY BIRTHDAYS! We’ll have birthday tracks celebrating Lily Allen, The Wedding Present, The Specials, Bronski Beat, Buzzcocks, Primitive Radio Gods, They Might Be Giants, and Richmond’s own Lucy Dacus!
And I’ve got 2 double milestones this week, from The Hold Steady and Aimee Mann.
