Ambiance Congo / The Other Black Music
Ambiance Congo: May 31, 2026 3:00-5:00 PM
WELCOME!
Last time on this program I promised a tribute to the great Congolese singer, composer and band leader Pamelo Mounk’a.
Pamelo Mounk’a was born May 10, 1945 and passed in January of 1996.
He was a master of infectious and dancebale music for his entire career.
We start with an actual tribute to Pamelo from his countryman, the guitarist Saint Pétro, released in 2021 and continue the first hour with music by the late master, Pamelo Mounk’a.
In the second hour of today’s program, we’ll hear a variety of Congolese music from the 70s to today.
