Welcome to WRIR’s 2026 Spring Fund Drive. Thank you for your support!
WRIR is the ONLY radio station in Richmond where you can hear music like this, African music with a long, rich and incredibly prolific history. This is the music that inspired much of Sub-Saharan African modern music for generations and it has been presented to you every other Sunday right here on WRIR, independent, all-volunteer community radio for over 25 years under the inspirational leadership of of our late friend and world music director Bill Lupoletti of “Global A Go-Go” and of my good friend and Black music aficionado Charles Graybeard Williams of “The Other Black Music” and “The Motherland Influence”.
Here at WRIR, we present the alternative music, news, views and programming. Our volunteers maintain the equipment and the building as well as make our own financial contributions, but we need your financial support to continue to serve the community.
