Alternative Milestones Episode 106 – Happy 2nd Birthday!

Thu, Feb 5, 2026

This past Sunday, 2/1, was the 2nd anniversary of Alternative Milestones hitting the air! I hope you’re enjoying the show even half as much as I’m loving putting them together for you. And again I thank all of the supporters of the station who have kept us on the air and gotten us moved over to our new studio. And thanks to everyone who volunteers their time, effort, skills and passion to make WRIR what it is.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t pay tribute to Melissa Vaughn, former president of WRIR who passed away last weekend after a long and courageous fight against cancer. I think my favorite show of my 2 years on the air here was the Halloween show we did together during the Fall Fundraiser in 2024. So much fun! She was such an inspiration, both as as DJ One Hit Wanda and as a pitbull of an advocate for everything this station stands for. She will be so missed.
