Going global in honor of Bill Lupoletti
As you likely have heard, we lost Bill Lupoletti, one of WRIR’s founders and DJ extraordinaire, on Oct. 31. Bill’s show, Global a Go-Go, started airing on WRIR online even before we went live on FM radio in 2005, and so tonight I am playing some of the world music he played through the years, as well as music that he influenced me to find — because Bill was all about “decolonizing our ears.”
If you wish to pay tribute to Bill, there is more information here at his obituary.
ALSO: I have tickets for Angélica Garcia’s show on Saturday, Nov. 8 at The Camel to give away! This is going to be a special show, with Kenneka Cook and Shera Shi supporting.
