Ambiance Congo / The Other Black Music

Ambiance Congo: April 20, 2025 3:00-5:00 PM

Some of the albums we will hear from at the beginning of the program.

WELCOME!

All of us at WRIR are celebrating the 20th anniversary of WRIR, Richmond Community Radio, the home of free speech, alternative news, views and music!

Under the umbrella of The Other Black Music, music that you don’t get to hear anywhere else in Richmond, Ambiance Congo first aired on WRIR on May 1, 2005.

Today I’ll bring back those memories by playing as much of the original 2005 tracklist as time will allow.

Originally hosted by David Noyes and Fred Ambiso, the program began, in introduction, with music from the trifecta of stars of Generation 2, Docteur Nico, Franco and Rochereau.
