Alternative Milestones Episode 64 – Grace Under Pressure
If you’ve listened to the show at all, you know I play a song for every Rush album release anniversary, not just the milestone ones. The one I play today comes from what is probably, top-to-bottom, my favorite Rush album. Top 3 at least. Grace Under Pressure was released 41 years ago this week. I currently have only one tattoo, and it’s the P/G (Grace Under Pressure) fraction you see here.
In other news, we’re gearing up for the WRIR Spring Fundraiser! It officially starts tomorrow but I’ll have some details for you during today’s show.
As for the rest of today’s playlist, I’ve got 8 birthday milestone tracks… 8! You’ll be hearing from The Specials, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, 4 Non Blondes (our protest song of the week), Marcy Playground, Ocean Colour Scene, Pete Shelley and 311 – lots of juicy deep cuts here.
In memoriam tracks from The Soft Boys and Type O Negative. And regular old release milestone tracks will include Pavement, Hum, The Wombats, and Fiona Apple to name just a few.
“Every Thursday, at 1, you know what to do. Tune in to Alternative Milestones, where old favorites renew”.
