Cause and Effect: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Cowabunga, dudes! Today on Cause and Effect, Andrew with RVA Playlist is looking at the history of the bodacious heroes in a half-shell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in honor of the foursome’s 40th anniversary in 2024.
Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created the TMNT in 1984 with a comic that would quickly spawn Turtlemania across the globe as a multi-million dollar media franchise. There were movies, toys, cartoons, video games, arena rock shows, and other merchandise that had kids buying anything that had a Ninja Turtle on it. Plus, we got some really great Turtle-related music. Okay, not all of it was great but today’s show will still be totally awesome.
