Cosmic Connections Episode 9 Cellular Psychedelia

Mon, Jan 15, 2024

At the crossroads of Folk and Psychedelia is a tapestry of music where solitary figures waltz in and out of lush valleys and isolated highways. A single note bursts within darkness, illuminating the mind. The sound penetrates like the wind pushing through your clothes and skin, it enters your body- you feel it in your bones.

Filled with eloquently melancholic lyrics and passionate melodies rooted in Folk tradition and displaying a Psychedelic mindset of eternal travel, the paradox of mind and men as well as expressing the absurd in full display. Often absent of electric instruments, the songs seem to hold more space, allowing sound to bloom in full without drowning in harmonic cacophony. A single melody can echoe into infinity.

Join us for a special examination of alternative folk, blues and acoustic music from Detroit to Ireland. Artists included are John Fahey, Vashti Bunyan, Wendy and Bonnie Flowers, Jack Kerouack and many more.
