Vashti Bunyan and the English Folk Eccentrics on Over the Edge of the Pop Narcotic
Tonight on Over the Edge of the Pop Narcotic, it’s a show of English eccentrics and English folk all brought on by my current need to just escape, and a short record released in 1970 by the young women in the one horse wagon above: Vashti Bunyan. Her record is called Just Another Diamond Day and it documents a two year, ten mile a day road trip with her then boyfriend and Afghan dog on the that one horse wagon, from swinging London to Scotland’s Hebrides Islands. Looking for an artist commune Donavan promised to but never did establish. Great story, great record and great music. Enjoy. Otto
